Mauricio Pochettino expresses dissatisfaction with the recent choice made concerning Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino expresses his discontent with the Premier League’s choice to schedule the Blues’ match against Wolves on Christmas Eve and extends his sympathy to the club’s fans.

The decision to set the fixture at 1.30pm on Christmas Eve has been criticized as “unacceptable” by the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST).

This marks the first top-flight match to take place on Christmas Eve since 1995 and means that Pochettino won’t be able to celebrate his 31st wedding anniversary with his wife, a situation that he is unhappy about.

Pochettino was candid about his sentiments during his press conference on Friday but concedes that his hopes for a schedule change are unlikely to materialize.

He mentioned, “Our fans are not happy? Me neither. I’m not happy either because the 23rd is my anniversary, and I have to travel to Wolves. I won’t be spending the night of the 23rd at home.

The 24th is a significant night for Argentine people, and I hope to make it back in time to celebrate.”

While the CST has called for the league to reschedule the match, Pochettino remains skeptical about Chelsea’s prospects of successfully pushing for a new date.

He stated, “It is challenging because I believe it’s not straightforward to alter. We must accept that we are in England, and it’s distinct from the rest of the world. I need to adapt and, even though I’m not pleased, I need to give my best.”
